Sales Representative
Sell a safety system to the people responsible for safety. Two years in software sales, an eye for industrial operations, and the patience for a considered buying process.
ZeroIncidents turns the IP and CCTV cameras a factory already has into a system that recognises developing risk — a forklift and a pedestrian on converging paths, a worker in a machine zone, protective equipment missing on a particular shift. We sell it to the people who carry responsibility when something goes wrong: HSE and EHS managers, plant managers, and increasingly works councils who want to know exactly what is being watched and what is not.
That makes this a different sales job from most software roles. Nobody buys this on a demo alone. A first conversation is usually about one specific situation in one specific aisle, and the honest answer is sometimes that we cannot help with it. Getting to a signature means understanding the operation, being straight about the limits, and being willing to say no to a deal that would not work.
What the work looks like
You own the commercial conversation from first contact to signed pilot. Inbound demo requests come to you, and you build your own pipeline alongside them — trade events, industry associations, and the safety managers who move to a new plant and take the idea with them.
You will spend real time on factory floors. The best qualification you can do is walk the site and see where the traffic actually crosses, and that is not a call you can take from a desk.
You work closely with the deployment engineers. A pilot that starts on the wrong camera fails for reasons that have nothing to do with the product, so scoping is a shared job rather than something thrown over a wall after the contract.
What you will do
- Own the commercial conversation from first contact through pilot to contract
- Qualify by understanding the operation, not by working a script
- Visit facilities and scope pilots together with the deployment engineers
- Build pipeline through industry events, associations and referrals
- Feed back what the market actually asks for, including what we cannot yet do
- Keep the pipeline honest — a forecast nobody believes is worse than no forecast
What we are asking for
- HBO level of working and thinking
- At least two years selling software, ideally B2B and to a considered buying process
- Comfortable in an industrial environment: safety shoes, a hard hat and a walk through a plant
- Able to hold a technical conversation without pretending to be an engineer
- Fluent English — most of our customers and all of our documentation are in it
- Willing to travel within Europe, roughly a few days a month
Nice to have
- Dutch, French or German — our customers are European and a first conversation in their own language opens doors
- Experience selling into manufacturing, logistics or process industry
- Any background in safety, quality or operations, whatever your job title was
- Familiarity with how cameras, networks and edge hardware actually behave on a plant floor
What we offer
- A product that does something measurable, sold to people who can tell whether it works
- Direct contact with the engineers who build it — no layer in between
- Room to shape how this is sold; the playbook is not finished
- Hybrid working, with the travel the job genuinely needs and not more
- A salary that matches the experience, and a commission structure you can calculate yourself
